Define: ICMC
The Initial Case Management Conference (ICMC) is one of the first events in a divorce or custody matter and is usually the first time that the parties appear in court. The purpose of an ICMC is to begin the case in a orderly fashion by having all parties appear in the same place at the same time to establish basic details of the case. All parties will be required to fill out a data sheet prior to the ICMC which collects basic information, like income, property, and children. This sheet is then examined by the judge, who may advise the parties on dispute resolution options or other paths forward.
